Josh was on vacation last week so not only did Colton and Josh have some bonding time, but Daddy got to take Colton to his 4 month well check. I was a little jealous that I didn't get to go, but then again I was ok missing out on the shots. At four months Colton is 26.5 inches long (93rd percentile) and 14 lbs 13 oz (50th percentile). So he is long and skinny, not a huge surprise. The doctor was surprised that his weight dropped off from the 75th percentile to the 50th, so we are supposed to start either rice cereal or a bottle of formula everyday. Yesterday the rice cereal was not a hit, but today he did much better and might have even swallowed some of it!
Colton has quite the personality. He has Josh's laid back demeanor and I call him my quite observer. But when he is hungry he definitely lets it be known and has absolutely no patience. This he surely gets from me. He smiles and laughs, especially during diaper changes for some reason, or when you sing a silly song. He also babbles and I think he's telling jokes because he cracks himself up. He has started blowing raspberries too, which I love.
He grabs everything and sticks it in his mouth. There is this piece on his entertainer that he REALLY wants to put in his mouth but gets so frustrated trying that it usually leads to screaming and he has to be removed from the situation. He started rolling from belly to back at about two months, and this month he has mastered back to belly. In fact you can't put him on his back without him immediately flipping over. This is super annoying when trying to change his diaper!
He has been in 3-6 months clothes since about 7 weeks old, but he's getting to long and really needs to go up to the next size, especially in his footed jammos. And since he is so skinny he's still in size 2 diapers, which is good because we have a whole case in his closet.
Last night we had a barbeque at Josh's parents house with a bunch of his high school friends, their kiddos, and their parents. It was so fun to see all our kids together and I wish a had pictures to share. Of course, we left the camera at home. So instead here are some that we took on Colton's four month birthday!
